Zero commission; Zomato not to charge a commission to restaurants using its takeaway service
Zomato will do away with commissions it charges restaurant partners on takeaway orders, the food delivery app said on Wednesday, in a bid to help them recover faster from the economic crisis wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic and also offer customers an alternative to home delivery.
“We are introducing takeaway/self-pickup services at a much larger scale than before,” founder Deepinder Goyal said in a Twitter post.
“Also, making this service commission-free for our restaurant partners. To help the restaurant sector, we will also forego the payment gateway charges incurred on all such orders,” he tweeted.

YouTube Launches Audio Ads to target music fans with audio-only ads
YouTube looks set to add audio-only background ads to the video platform but only when you’re listening to content in the background on desktop.
In a blog post, YouTube product manager Melissa Hsieh Nikolic confirmed that the feature will begin rolling out in beta and is “designed to connect your brand with audiences in engaged and ambient listening on YouTube.”
Essentially this means that those that like to listen to podcasts and music on YouTube in the background while they go about their day may hear randomly placed audio-only ads tailored to them.
